Seminar Held of BIM Technology for Integrated Pipe Corridor
On the afternoon of March 6, the Engineering Consolidation Dept. (Architectural Design Dept.Ⅴ) held the Seminar of BIM Technology Application in the Tangshan Integrated Pipe Corridor Project, attended by designers of Road-Bridge Dept., Environmental Engineering Dept. and Gas-Heat Dept. as well as Director LIU Shui and technical experts of Project Consolidation Dept., in a bid to seek solutions to the problems encountered during the practical application of BIM technology in the above project.
At the meeting, the attendees focused on the problems concerning BIM model making, where in the design process using CAD technology, the drawings have a series of problems, such as deviations between the structure and the reserved place of the building holes and the size of the holes being not enough for the pipeline to pass through; if the construction is started all over again due to the drawing errors, both schedule and funding will be seriously impacted. For such cases, designers promptly modified the drawings and put forward relevant BIM amendments and suggestions.
BIM achievements of Tangshan Underground Integrated Pipe Corridor Project were also presented at the meeting, including model display, display of integrated mechanical and electrical pipelines and visualization (roaming). Also, the output of BIM drawings was exhibited, together with the materials statistics listing accurate amounts of required materials.
The seminar solved the problems existing in the project, enabled designers to have a deeper understanding of the application of BIM technology and provided technical support for future construction of urban integrated pipe corridor.
