Early summer is a beautiful season, when lush hillsides and fields are bathed in fine rain with cuckoos singing. To celebrate the "May 1" International Labor Day and praise hard-working laborers, the Workers’ Chorus Contest , organized by Tangshan Trade Union of Industry, Construction, Transport, Agriculture, Forestry & Water, was held in the bus company hall on April 18.
The leadership and trade union of the Institute attached great importance to this contest, set up a participating team consisting of LIU Yuena of Gen. Affairs Office, ZHAI Yue of Finance Division, LIU Chen of Planning Dept. and SUN Zi of Caofeidian Branch Institute, and invited vocal music teacher Li Jianlei, from Tangshan Arts School, to give special training. Under the instruction of LI, the four non-professional team members practiced hard and gradually grasped the singing skills.
A total of 18 teams stood out from the preliminary round to compete in the final. The teams each turned in a superb performance in different styles, whether passionate, magnificent or mild, fully demonstrating the aggressive and proactive spirit of workers from all walks of life in this era. The audience gave rounds of rapturous applause.
With delicate and contagious emotional expression and harmonious and natural multi-voice part chorus, the female chorus team of the Institute won a unanimous recognition and took the team title with the highest score 9.92 in the contest. This is the best result achieved by the Institute in the competitions ever held by the municipal Union. This honor is also an impetus to all the Institute’s staff to make positive progress in their respective positions and more contributions to the Institute.
