On the morning of May 11, the Institute held an operation & production scheduling meeting in the meeting room on the second floor of Building C, attended by President WANG Chunyan, Party Secretary WANG Jianhua and other Institute leaders, as well as heads of various units. The meeting was presided over by Vice President YE Hongzhang.

At the meeting, the Engineering Consolidation Dept. (Architectural Design Dept.Ⅴ) demonstrated the achievements of application of BIM technology in the project of Tangshan underground integrated pipe corridor. President WANG pointed out that the application of BIM technology is not only the requirement of independent innovation but also the demand of the development of the industry. The extensive application of BIM technology in the Institute is very necessary, important and urgent. The institute will ramp up support for the development of BIM. Every department should set up an R&D team and assign tasks in accordance with “Four Dos” mechanism (“Four Dos” means what to do, how to do, who to do and when to be done). Each department must finish no less than one BIM design project by the end of this year.

Vice President Wu Xiaokun delivered a speech, pointing out architecture profession plays a fundamental role in the BIM implementation process, and modeling should be done prior to other professions. In spite of large workload and high complexity, the heads of architecture units should actively guide professionals to overcome difficulties in the early-stage application so that BIM technology can be further carried out. Green building and energy-related professions should also follow it up without delay.

Subsequently, President YE briefed the meeting on the operation & production of the Institute as of April 30. He demanded that all production units clear up recent years “bad debts” to make good preparations for institutional restructuring. “From now on the contract comes into effect only after the deposit arrives,” he stressed.

Administrative offices reported on BIM related financial preferential policies, pension insurance reform and information management system operation. Each production unit followed with report of on-hand projects progress, new projects tracking and fee collection.

President WANG gave guidance on key tasks and several projects in her concluding remarks. First, the Institute will further improve its operation and management; in particular, improve work efficiency by strengthening data management and platform operations. Second, the Institute will give full play to the role of 10 new units, including BIM Research Center and Project Management Center, in order to lead the way to scientific and technological progress, expand business area and further improve the business chain. Third, mid-level cadres should stress politics, take the overall situation into consideration, take the courage to shoulder their responsibilities and enhance their political sensitivities. Fourth, the Institute plans to organize employees to investigate “sponge city” and other projects in late May.

Secretary WANG announced the appointment of PANG Chong as Vice President and conveyed the spirit of the document issued by the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection on welcoming the convening of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
