On the morning of February 12, a thrilling tug-of-war was held, in which teams from all departments took part. After the elimination round of competition between teams randomly drawn, winners entered into a wheel war before four team qualified for the semi-final. The team of the organs of the Institute and the team of the Planning Department met in the final. With screams from the cheer teams and firm orders from commanders, the final kicked off in a fierce manner. The team of the organs successfully defended the championship. The match not only inspired the staff to take physical exercises, but also enhanced the sense of cooperation and teamwork spirit of each department, promoted emotional exchange and communication between departments and strengthened the cohesion and solidarity of the Institute.
While tug-of-war was a physical contest, riddle game was a mental one. The paper strips were written with various traditional riddles and quizzes on historical knowledge, daily life, social affairs and buzzwords on the Internet, all being informative, interesting and entertaining. People, in twos and threes, pondered or whispered to each other. Some participants puzzled over the riddles while some were suddenly enlightened. The Labor Union awarded gifts, as festive greetings, to those giving answers. The event was a showcase of China’s traditional culture, stimulating the staff’s curiosity and interest in knowledge while harmonizing the relationship among the staff in a most happy and relaxing way.
On the afternoon of February 13, melodious songs and continuous applauses wafted in the conference room on the sixth floor, converging into a sea of joy. Amateur artists from various departments presented a wonderful performance. Singing and laughter expressed bounteous wishes for 2015. The gala ended in excitement.
