On October 30, the leadership of the Institute led by president Wang Chunyan, secretary Wang Jianhua and staff of Architectural Landscape Department paid a return visit to Liuzansancun village for the poverty alleviation progress. Secretary Xu Lianqun and chief Zhao Guangshan of Liuzan township and the village cadres held talks with them in the township government.

Director Li Zhizheng of Architectural Landscape Department reported the village reconstruction plan. Secretary Xu Lianqun appreciated the support and assistance of the institute and proposed suggestions for the next step. The village renovation is the major work for Caofeidian district in the following three years. As one of the five central townships, Liuzan township covers a larger area with weak foundation. Therefore, it is regarded as a focus in the reconstruction work. Liuzan township did not have regional planning before and now it is facing the homestead examination and approval task. How to prevent the blind development becomes an urgent issue to the township leaders at the moment. Liuzan officials wished that the Institute could expand their support to the township and draft its master plan and reconstruction scheme so as to lead the village renovation in Liuzan township with professional advantages.

Xu said Liuzan township has the advantage to some extent in developing green industries. The township economy mainly lies in fishery and animal husbandry and abundant geothermal resource is available in the coastal area. The university town will be relocated here in 2015, which will bring the development of various industries such as commercial and trade, service and logistics.

Wang Chunyan carefully listened to Xu’s analysis and highly praised the foresight of township leaders. She said the institute will assist Liuzan township with all-out efforts by integrating its resources, renovating village landscape and making reasonable planning in a bid to achieve its sustainable development and forge a unique ecological fishing village.
