Recently, designers of Architectural Design Dept. of the Institute went to Fuleyuan Community and participated in the consultation meeting on renovation of Fuleyuan Garden, one of residential areas of Fuleyuan Community. The meeting was also attended by members of the Community Construction Management Committee and representatives from Property Services.

Designed by Architectural Design Dept. and built in 1999, Fuleyuan Garden covers an area of 503 mu (about 335,500 m2) and is now occupied by 9,505 residents (3,583 families). With no major overhaul since its completion, its supporting facilities such as greening, lighting and parking spaces have become insufficient for the growing needs of the residents, causing many disputes between residents as well as residents and Property Services.

At the meeting, the representatives from Property Services put forward 13 constructive suggestions around environment, greening, vehicle management, arrangement of four gates, and reconstruction of the central square. The Community Construction Management Committee proposed six recommendations targeting at green space construction, road hardening and parking spaces, among other things. According to the needs of the residents, the community committee advised building a new-energy public restroom in the square, making integrated planning of fitness equipment, and solving the problems related ground floor restaurants and public lighting. The technicians of Architectural Design Dept. carefully listened to the above opinions and discussed their feasibility with other attendees, laying a foundation for designing a more livable renovation planning.

After the discussion, the technicians took photos and made records of the buildings, roads and squares of the Fuleyuan Garden.
