To commemorate the 98th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement, inspire the enthusiasm of young staff to have a professional career with dedication and enhance the professional quality of young designers, the Youth League Committee of the Institute organized a return visit to Qian'an, a city in Hebei province, as an educational practice activity.
Qian'an is one of the 16 first-batch pilot cities of national sponge city program, and more importantly, the only city in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the sole county-level city in the country listed in the program. The Institute undertook the works of Fengqing Road, Fu’an Road, and Qiguang Street in the city and the drainage design of the three roads, which have been recognized by the municipal government, planning department and construction department. In the construction site of Fu’an Road, WU Chen, deputy president of the Iinstitute for drainage, explained the design of Qian'an as a sponge city by the Institute.
President WANG of the Institute shared the achievements made by the Institute in recent years and the future developing direction of the Institute. Young people are the group carrying the hope of business growth, she said, so they should stick to ideal and faith, integrate the essence of May Fourth Movement into day to day work, raise the awareness of role, overall situation, responsibility, devotion and innovation, and not only do their duties well, but also continuously intensify learning of political theories and acquiring of professional and comprehensive knowledge, and apply them into practice intentionally, so as to rapidly grow into high-quality compound talents of all-round development to contribute wisdom and wisdom to ensuring the sustainable development of the institute.
