The 2017 National Survey and Design Industry Conference of Innovative and Excellent Creations was held in Fuzhou on December 8th to 9th in order to implement the guidelines and policies drawn out by the 19th CPC National Congress, promote the creative enthusiasm of urban design and architecture professionals across the country, enhance the self-confidence in national architectural culture, guide the public to pay close attention to architectural creation, and advocate a positive and healthy environment of architecture comments. The Institute dispatched a team to the meeting, comprised of Vice President LI Shuanglai and Chief Architect WU Xiaokun as leaders as well as a number of architects.
The theme of this conference was: promoting architectural culture, enhancing design quality and highlighting design value. At the meeting, special reports on architectural creation were delivered, respectively, by HE Jingtang (a famous expert in architectural culture research and practice and academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering), CHANG Qing (an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences who focuses on urban and rural historical environment regeneration research) and a number of national engineering survey and design masters including MEI Hongyuan, DING Jiemin, SHAO Weiping and CUI Tong. At the same time, at a special sub-forum of the conference, experts such as QIU Hong, MENG Fanchao, ZHU Ying, HUANG Tao, XIE Zundang and ZHOU Honglei gave innovative management and engineering practice reports separately.
The Excellent National Architectural Design Exhibition & Exchange and the Architects' Academic Exchange were important parts of the conference, of which the former showcased the first prize winning works of construction engineering category of the 2017 Outstanding National Engineering Survey and Design in China and Fujian Province. The works displayed and the speeches delivered at the exchanges were aimed at publicizing the spirit of innovation and excellence embodied in the award-winning works and providing a good opportunity for architectural designers, university teachers and students engaging in architecture and the general public to learn from and appreciate the award winning works.
This conference not only provided the attendees from the Institute with a platform to broaden horizons and fully understand new trends, new concepts and new thoughts of the survey and design industry, but also helped improve the its architectural creativity and guided its transformation, upgrading, innovation and development.
