In the 8th Mass Culture & Art Festival of the organs directly under the Tangshan government (the Organs), the final of "Striving for Heroic Tangshan" Singing Contest was held in the theater of Municipal Youth Palace On Sept. 7. The female semi-chorus team from the Institute, consisting of LIU Yuena, ZHAI Yue, QI Liming, Mao Xiaoying, LIU Chen and SUN Zi, qualified for the final with the the second place in the preliminary contest. In the final also were other 10 chorus teams like the one from Multiple Health and Family Planning Commission and 10 semi-chorus teams like the one from the Municipal Education Bureau.
Before the start of the final, FU Zhenbo (Member and Secretary General of the Municipal Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Working Committee of the Party Committee of the Organs) made remarks. He pointed out that Party members and cadres are the backbone of the municipal Party organs to implement CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping's earnest instructions to Tangshan and fulfill the objectives and tasks determined by the Second Plenary Session of the Tenth Municipal Committee.
In recent years, the working committee has held a series of annual cultural and art festivals in succession and organized a variety of cultural activities, therefore, activating the cultural life, fully demonstrating the achievements in Party construction and good mental outlook of Party members and cadres in the Organs as well as inspiring the enthusiasm of Party members and cadres of the Organs in undertaking tasks and starting businesses.
The 15 teams glorified their motherland and the Party with orderly formations, full spirit, loud singing and appealing stage performance. Revolutionary songs were vividly presented and won burst after burst of warm applause. After a fierce competition, the first, second and third prizes for chorus and semi-chorus respectively, Original Award, Popular Award, etc. were given to appropriate teams. Female semi-chorus teams of the Institute won the second prize.
It is hoped that all Party members and cadres of the Institute should carry forward the spirit of the semi-chorus team, continue exploration and innovation in their respective posts and contribute outstanding achievements to meet the convening of the 19th National Congress of the CPC.
